The Story of Driftwood Atelier
Hello, my name is Xavier, I’m 24 years old, and I’m passionate about woodworking, kitesurfing, and traveling. My journey with Driftwood Atelier started almost by chance, but with a lot of passion and determination.
It all began four years ago, after completing my studies in woodworking. I had a dream: to transform a simple van into a true cocoon on wheels — a space that would reflect my love for the ocean and adventure. Using my skills, I fitted out my first van exactly as I had imagined it, with simple yet carefully chosen materials.
Then I hit the road, traveling across Europe in my van and sharing my adventures on social media. That’s when someone, impressed by my work, offered to buy my van. I accepted. Shortly after, thanks to word of mouth, more requests started to come in.
What initially started as a personal project turned into a full-time passion: designing unique vans, tailored to my clients’ dreams. Over time, I refined my techniques and began using increasingly high-performance materials. Today, I work with materials like platenladen, an ultra-light and robust wood, perfect for mobile fittings.
Driftwood Atelier isn’t just about van conversions — it’s a philosophy: every van tells a story, one of a quest for freedom and nature. Thanks to a growing community of enthusiasts, I continue to innovate and reinvent what a converted van can be.
Today, Driftwood Atelier has become a reference point for anyone dreaming of a custom-designed space, built for escape and adventure.
My goal remains simple: to turn your dreams into reality, one van at a time.
See you soon on the road!
